Every Thursday evening May-October at Ron Henry Horseshoe Bend Park on River Road upstream from McCaysville, Georgia. Everyone welcome to pick and/or listen. Music Jams start around 6:00 PM. Bring a lawn chair, your instrument, your picnic dinner, and enjoy.

Fannin County operates three parks and year round sporting activities. The Recreation Department assists with such programs as youth football, softball, baseball, basketball, summer day camp, swimming lessons, etc. We are here to help the people of Fannin County with their recreational needs.

For inquiry regarding all registration and reservations, please contact the Fannin County Recreation Building located, off Tom Boyd Road. Office hours are between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. All enrollments are on a first come first serve basis. You may register by mail to: (580 Winding Drive, Blue Ridge, GA 30513. Attn: Recreation Dept.) Online register is also available at http://www.fannincountyrecdept.org.

Registration forms and flyers on programs are distributed throughout the community and in area businesses. Satellite areas are designated for registrations on certain programs, but are always advertised before registration dates.

Programs and registration dates are also advertised through the local radio station and newspaper.

Fannin County Recreation Complex

Located on Tom Boyd Road midway between the two cities, the Fannin County Recreation Complex has 107 acres of space entirely devoted to recreation. There are six ball fields, two soccer fields, a large pond, two pavilions, a walking trail, a fitness center, restrooms and more to come. The Fannin County Recreation Complex is located on 107 acres purchased by the County in 2001. Approximately forty acres have been developed into soccer fields, baseball and softball fields, football fields, two concession stands and a large parking lot. Picnic pavilions adorn another fifteen acre tract along with bicycle trails and walking trails. The remaining acres will hold a youth center with basketball courts, and tennis courts. The complex is open year-round.

Ron Henry Horseshoe Bend River Park

Ron Henry Horseshoe Bend River Park is a passive park located on the River Road near McCaysville, GA and runs alongside the Toccoa River. The park is open year-round under the direction of Eddie Oneal, Fannin County Recreation Director. Horseshoe Bend Park, located in McCaysville, has two pavilions and rest room facilities. The park was developed by a Department of Natural Resources grant. The park has playground areas, benches along the river bank, 2 picnic shelters, picnic tables, horseshoe pits, volleyball courts, grills and restrooms. It is designed for group gatherings, such as family reunions, church groups, birthday parties, music gatherings, company groups and more. A perfect setting for a family picnic or a place to just get away and enjoy the tranquility.

Tammen Park

Tammen Park is an athletic/passive park located just off Highway 515 just below the Blue Ridge Dam. The park is open year-round. Tammen Park, located in Blue Ridge, Georgia has a softball field, pavilion and restrooms. Tammen Park opened in the summer of 1997. This park was developed by a grant that was secured through the Department of Natural Resources & the donation of the land from Dr. Jerry Tammen. The park is open year-round under the direction of Eddie Oneal , Fannin County Recreation Director.  Tammen Park has a large multi-purpose baseball/softball diamond, with access to the Toccoa River for fishing. Tammen Park also has a 75 foot long fishing pier, 2 picnic shelters, sidewalks, picnic tables, grills, playground area. This is a perfect place for groups and gatherings or just a place to get away and enjoy the serenity.

Fannin County Recreation Department Multi-Purpose Center

Fannin County Recreation Department Multi-Purpose Center is our newest facility, boasting an indoor elevated walking track, four regulation sized basketball courts, two meeting rooms, a conference room and a full kitchen as well as available amenities.
